African Union (AU): Brief Report

The African Union (AU) is a continental organization comprising 55 member states across Africa. It was officially established in 2002, replacing the Organization of African Unity (OAU), which was founded in 1963. The AU is headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The African Union’s primary objectives are to promote unity and solidarity among African nations, maintain peace and security, advance economic integration and sustainable development, protect the sovereignty of member states, and strengthen democracy, good governance, and human rights across the continent.
